ABOUT James

Based in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, James is an artist and the founder of Collide Public Art Initiative, an organization dedicated to working alongside leading Australian artists to conceptualize and deliver major, large-scale permanent public artworks.

James’s own practice sits awkwardly between photography and sculpture, purposefully challenging the boundaries and formal expectations of both mediums. His recent work includes Monument Glitch, a collaborative project with Joel Zika created for the National Portrait Gallery, and Venetian Kind, exhibited at the European Cultural Centre in conjunction with the Venice Biennale.
